Acle Bridge Visitor Centre
Our entry for the Acle Bridge National Park & Education Centre Competition (2018) seeks to create a place that celebrates the unique character of the Broads National Park. The proposal provides respite and facilities for visitors whilst simultaneously stimulating curiosity, inspiring visitors to learn about wildlife, water management and the history of this area of national importance. The design aims to provide a symbiotic relationship between the building, users and landscape, creating an enjoyable and edifying experience for different audiences, where facilities are fully accessible to all. Our submission was the result of a whole-team effort and culminated in an innovative design that exhibits the importance of sustainable management and preservation of the National Park, whilst reflecting the history and identity of the Broads.
The approachability of Adam, David, and their colleagues was very helpful for us. It was useful to have their take on our ideas-validating them or where they felt necessary challenging them. This was done in a constructive way.
