Hanley Street

This scheme is a proposal for the development of a new student housing building in the centre of Birmingham’s Gun quarter. The development will provide all necessary amenities to residents and includes a secure communal entrance lobby, common room, laundry and cycle storage facilities. The front elevation proposes a red brick façade with soldier course detailing accentuating each floor level. The simple detailing, window proportions and materiality are reflective of the area’s industrial heritage, with characteristics drawn from the nearby canal side architecture.

Our client says...

Hickman & Smith are one of my go to architects for any project of any size and having just finished a 108 bedroom PBSA in the centre of Birmingham, I can safely say they were amenable, fast to comment and always willing to work with us rather than against which gives huge kudos given the modern nature of architecture. Brilliant from day one to completion.
