Louisa Ryland House

Louisa Ryland House is a grand Grade II listed Building in the centre of Birmingham.  The property had been poorly converted to office accommodation by Birmingham City Council and had been unoccupied and unloved for an extended period of time before Hickman & Smith Architects were appointed with a brief to comprehensively renovate the building with associated internal and external alterations to provide refurbished and additional B1 office floorspace.

Internally the entire floor plan has been reconfigured with new stair cores and amenities throughout to maximise the value of the office accommodation.  The project is delivered to a high-quality finish befitting the prestigious building and location at the heart of Birmingham’s commercial district.

External alterations include the provision of new rooftop plant and stair enclosure, alterations to existing courtyard elevations to allow for new a fire escape stair and improved access to the existing courtyard.
