University Locks
University Locks provides 659 high quality en-suite and shared en-suite student bedrooms at the eastern edge of Birmingham’s educational quarter. Hickman & Smith Architects were appointed to deliver the scheme under sub-consultancy of national architectural practice Glenn Howells Architects.
This scheme is a key part of the emerging Eastside Masterplan. Hickman & Smith Architects’ role was to deliver the project during the construction stage and to ensure compliance with statutory regulations. Hickman & Smith Architects performed client facing activities including compliance monitoring services, regular site visits, reporting on progress, quality and risks, and assisted with project handover, rectification and defects.
The approachability of Adam, David, and their colleagues was very helpful for us. It was useful to have their take on our ideas-validating them or where they felt necessary challenging them. This was done in a constructive way.
